Joe says he was in the garden; Sam says Joe was in the living room. One of them is the liar, so Mia is honest. Now assume Joe is the liar and see what breaks.
3AnswerAsks twice
This shows the full answer. Sure?
Yes, show me
Sam (kitchen). Joe says he was in the garden; Sam says Joe was in the living room. Both can’t be true, so one of them is the liar, and Mia is honest: she wasn’t in the kitchen. If Joe were lying, he would be the culprit, in the kitchen, and honest Sam’s “living room” would be false too. Impossible. So Sam is lying: Sam was in the tiled kitchen, Joe in the garden, Mia in the living room.
Every answer is also printed at the back of the book, with its page number.
